What do you think is the legacy of Pillowtex?

How did the Pillowtex closing affect you and your family?

If you were a mill worker, have you recovered from the mill closing?

Do you keep up with old friends and coworkers from the mill?

Sad story.

All the rhetoric and hype about the research jobs will only lead to false hopes for a community left with retail and service jobs.

Research Triangle Park in the Durham/Raleigh area already has a lock on the types of jobs that are being promised and, with competition from other states to get in on the biotech/pharma industry, rest assure that the huge numbers that Murdoch promised will probably be a fraction of what actually materializes.

I live in Pennsylvania but I grew up in NC My mama
worked for cannon mills,Fieldcrest and pillowtex for
35 years. I also worked for Cannon and Trend hosiery.
I thind the trade agreements have had a terrible effect on manufactering in this country. Look at all
the recalls of Chinese goods. I would like to see the
trade agreements recinded. I have a hard time finding
anything made in America any more. TIME TO BRING THE
JOBS BACK TO AMERICA!!!!!!!

Would it be OK to use these photos for a poster for a showing of Where Do You Stand A Story From an American Mill? I am a graphic design student and our class is supposed to design a poster for this showing. It is a non-profit org. and the viewing is free. It’s hard to find photos like these and they would be perfect!

    Thank you,
