The end of a marathon two weeks.

The moth of May has always been a a busy time in Concord.

For two weeks out of the year, Concord becomes the third largest city in the state. Ad each year, we hit the track and the infield to take you inside the garages, on the track and meet the fans that make NASCAR popular.

This year was pretty eventful, as Kasey Kahne breaks a year-and-a-half long winless streak, as he wins the Coca-Cola 600 and wins the Sprint All-Star Race, after fans voted him into the race. H.A. “Humpy” Wheeler, longtime promoter and general manager of Lowe’s Motor Speedway announced his retirement. Speedway Motorsports CEO Bruton Smith announced that he bought Kentucky Speedway and said he would ready the track for a Sprint Cup race by next year.

We wrap up Race Weeks 2008, but in September, drag racing comes to Concord and then the Bank of America 500 in October.

See you then.
