With election season right around the corner, Cabarrus officials are doing their part to inform voters of registration deadlines and new information about expanded Early Voting options.
Friday, Oct. 10 is the last day to register to vote or to update voter registrations to cast a ballot in the general election on November 4. Individuals can verify their voting status at http://www.cabarruscounty.us/Elections/newsandupdates.html; click the “North Carolina Voter Registration Search” link.
One-Stop Voting will begin Tuesday, Oct. 16 in Cabarrus County. One-Stop is an early voting option that allows registered voters the chance to avoid long lines on Election Day by casting their ballots at pre-determined locations around the county before Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Two new locations are available to make One-Stop Voting more convenient.In addition to the Cabarrus County Board of Elections Office, registered voters may vote early at the Kannapolis Train Depot and at the Harrisburg branch of the Cabarrus County Public Library.
One-Stop Voting Locations and Hours are:
• Board of Elections Office, 53 Corban Avenue SE, Concord; Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16-Friday, Oct. 31 and 8:30a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1.
• Kannapolis Train Depot, 201 South Main Street, Kannapolis; 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27-Friday, Oct. 31 and 9 a.m.-11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1.
• Harrisburg Branch of Cabarrus County Public Library, 201 Sims Blvd., Harrisburg; 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27-Friday, Oct. 31 and 9 a.m.-11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1.
Election Day poll workers needed
Poll workers are required to attend training sessions conducted by the Board of Elections prior to each major primary and general election.
